Small Business Counseling:

Through our Small Business Center we provide free, confidential counseling services for new and existing businesses. Our counselor is available to provide you with advice on starting or operating your business. No question is to simple, or complicated. We will be able to provide you with the answers you need, or refer you to someone who can.

Resource Library:

Literature, an Internet connection and audiovisual materials are available for your use. Handouts from The Small Business Administration are also available. Come by and ask about our services. The resource center is located at our Roxboro office.

Business Incubator:

If you are looking for a place to start your small business or your home based business has outgrown the kitchen table we may have the space you need. The Roxboro/Person County Business Development Center is Person County's own Business Incubator. We provide reasonable rents, business counseling, and shared services for businesses in the early stages of development. Incubator Information

If you are serious about starting a small business or expanding a business in North Carolina, this guide should get you started. This CD has been produced to assist those new to business ownership. However, it is designed to also be helpful to current growing businesses and those looking to relocate to this state.

Whatever your level of experience, this guide provides information we hope you will find useful when doing business in North Carolina. This free CD is available only in conjunction with a business counseling appointment.

Microenterprise Loan Program:

The North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center, now offers loans of up to $25,000 to local entrepreneurs to start or expand small businesses in rural North Carolina. The Rural Center’s Microenterprise Loan Program works with the Business Development Center to help people finance small business ventures when they might otherwise have difficulty getting loans from banks or other traditional lending sources.  Click here for more information.
